On a beautiful Saturday evening the Indy Saints closed the books on their inaugural WPSL season with a 4-1 win at home over the Ann Arbor FC Lumberjills.

It took Indy the majority of the first half to crack Ann Arbor’s defense but just before halftime UIndy’s Stephanie Burdsall pushed the Saints to a 1-0 lead with a rocket past Isabelle Austin in the 43rd minute. Seconds later IU forward Annalie Leitner made it 2-0 heading into the half.

The Saints came out attacking in the second half as Kayla Grimsley put her name on the stat sheet with a goal in the 53rd minute. In the 74th minute, Leitner made it 4-0 as she recorded her second goal of the night, this time from a free kick twenty yards out. Ann Arbor pulled one back in extra time as the referee awarded the visitors with a penalty. Allie Moening beat Emily McGrath for the final kick of the match, ending 4-1 to the Saints.

The Saints finished the WPSL season 7th in the Ohio Valley Conference with 6 points and a 2-6-0 record.
