Juan Guerra

Rumors have finally been put to rest as Indy Eleven confirmed this morning that New York Cosmos midfielder Juan Guerra will be wearing blue this season. First reported by Nipun Chopra of Soc Takes, the Venezuelan international started in 27 NASL games last season for the Cosmos, scoring 5 goals and 2 assists. Guerra, a defensive midfielder has previously played in Spain, Venezuela, Tampa Bay Rowdies, and Florida International University.

Owain Fon Williams

Last night news broke that Scottish Championship side Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC will be loaning goalie Owain Fon Williams to Indy Eleven for the 2018 season. It was confirmed by their manager John Robertson via Twitter. Williams, will be the first Welsh player in Indy Eleven history. This season he has appeared in three game for Inverness. Previously, the 30 year old keeper has played for Crewe Alexandra, Stockport County, Bury, Rochdale, and Tranmere Rovers. Internationally, Williams was Wales’s third string keeper during Euro 2016. Outside of soccer, Williams is a famous painter.

Assuming Inverness and Indy Eleven have come to a loan agreement and Williams passes his physical, the agreement will have to be cleared by FIFA, Scottish FA, and U.S. Soccer Federation before becoming official. No word on which club will be funding his contract or if Indy Eleven has a “buy out” option.

Zach Steinberger

Indy Eleven made it official this afternoon as Zach Steinberger has rejoined Indy Eleven for the 2018 season. The Butler University grad was drafted by the Houston Dynamo in 2015 but after struggling for playing time Dynamo sent Steinberger to Indy towards the end of 2015. The past two seasons Steinberger has played for the Jacksonville Armada where he had a breakout year in 2017, scoring 8 goals and recording 2 assists in the NASL.

Highlights of Zach Steinberger’s first two professional goals were scored with Indy Eleven on September 5, 2015.
