Back on May 5th Indy Eleven head coach Tim Hankinson was forced to bring in two midfielders as the injury bug plagued Don Smart and Ben Speas. The Eleven signed Jason Plumhoff and Brandon Poltronieri, two midfielders who had experience in the NASL. Today it was announced by USL side, Harrisburg City Islanders that they have signed Plumhoff, while Poltronieri thanked the Eleven via twitter for his time in Indianapolis.
During his two month stint with Indy Eleven, Plumhoff appeared in 6 games, started 1 and scored against FC Edmonton in a 2-1 defeat in Canada. Plumhoff will rejoin the Islanders, where is professional career started in 2010. That season Plumhoff scored 10 goals before going on to play for FC Edmonton, Jacksonville Armada, Saint Louis FC, and Indy Eleven.
Poltronieri only registered 46 minutes with the Eleven this spring. Prior to joining the Eleven, he played professionally in Costa Rica, Canada, and the United States.
The Eleven now have 21 on their roster and six of their seven international spots occupied. Now that the transfer window in the United States is open, we should expect the Eleven to bring in three to four players to add depth to their roster.
